Weekend Update - Maple Festival

shenanigans ;; I... ;; YOLO

Chardon has a Maple Festival every year on the town square. it's always a good time, but brings a lot of traffic to the town, which can be stressful. also, the coffee shop where I work is on said town square.

Friday::
I worked 2-11. we were SLAMMED. but things ran smoothly, thankfully. my feet were killing me afterwards so it was home to bed I went.

Saturday::
I walked around the Maple Fest with Randy and Melissa for a bit, helped out at Beans a little, and then I was called in to start work a bit earlier than expected. I didn't mind though, I was already there anyways. it was another extremely busy and late night. I was exhausted afterwards but a big thanks to Al, Wilkes, and Henry, whom helped make both days go by nice and smooth. laughing with them made it way less stressful than it could have been.

I love festival lemonade! YUM!

Sunday::
I thought about heading back up to the fest for a gyro or something but it rained all day. bummer. so instead I watched some Arrested Development and Food Network. ending the night with some Celebrity Apprentice.

I haven't linked-up for the awesomeness that is 5forFive lately, I think it's time to bring it back.

4/29-5/5
1:: clean my room and do laundry.
2:: work out at least twice.
3:: eat healthy and drink water.
4:: get rings to make card books and return jeans.
5:: get my work schedule.

**my blog's birthday is on Wednesday, there is a giveaway in the works.. stay tuned!! :)

the birthday of all birthdays

that's right, folks. today I take you back to November 2010 and give you my 21st birthday celebration.

Stephanie ;; Chelsee

for my 21st I decided to throw a shin-dig at a local bar//restaurant. my family had dinner there before hand. hope you're prepared for pictures...

I ate bread, in hopes not to die.

shots were consumed... obvs.

jager with Gram
lemon drop

my neighbor//friend iced me...

thanks, Tom.

of course there was cake...

smashed in my face...

I was a good sport though, thanks Carrie and Malone.

Enrique may or may not have made and appearance...

and waaayy too many pictures takes with friends//family...

and my first legal shot ever, courtesy of my neighbor...

thanks Mr. C!

overall, I had a fantastic twenty-first. I survived the night, but not before throwing up when I got home. and surprisingly I didn't have too much of a hangover the next day.. #win!

I don't have a picture of my invite, but I typed it up in the shape of a martini glass, it looked pretty neat- if I do say so myself!

*good luck to my Brownies tonight with the draft, pleeaaassseeee don't screw this up, again.

sports weekly

I decided I'm going to do a weekly or semi-weekly or whatever I feel like really.. sports update on my teams.

my Tribe is currently 8-10, 4th in the AL Central. they're usually doing worse, so as for now I'm content. I wish we were 1st in the division so that's something to work on. but the season is still young, we have plenty of time to come back. Swishy, and Reynolds are making me proud. however, my main man, Asdrubal Cabrera is letting me down- you better step your game up boy! I'm glad we have the JKkid back in the line-up now. let's go boys!

oh, my Brownies. how they depress me every year. I know football hasn't started yet, but the NFL Draft begins tomorrow so I wanted to include them. I really really really hope that we don't blow this draft like the others. we need to make smart choices. especially since we already booted our two best players- don't even get me started on that topic. agh! who would've thought the best player on a team would be the kicker.. Phil Dawson, I will forever miss you. Browns, DON'T EFF THIS UP! they'll eff it up.

this past season I got really into hockey, and I'm bummed I didn't watch it much before cause it's FREAKIN AWESOME! unfortunately the Flyers didn't make the playoffs this year. they're 21-22 and 5th in the Atlantic. not the best, but at least they're close to .500. I hope they have a better season next year, since this one is almost over.

and do I even need to talk about the Cavs re-hiring a coach that sucks? please don't make me. I don't think I can handle it.

ps, I'm ridic excited to say that this summer we're going on vacation to Nashville, TN! as a huge country music fan, I cannot wait to check out all this city has to offer. that's the good news, the extremely good news is (back story:: I love seafood and have been obsessed with poboy sandwiches since I had one in Vegas last summer, but I have no where to eat them that's less than 3 hours away) well guess what, Nashville, TN has po'boy sandwiches!! plus, one of the places was featured on Diners Drive-ins and Dives - double whammy! I'M SO FREAKING EXCITED!!!!

living the good life

check out this fab new link-up from Kelsey!

typical day in the life of Cassie...

well, that really depends on what day it is. some days I have classes, some days I have work, some days I run errands. so I'll just give y'all an overall sense.

wake-up. most-likely from my Eric Church alarm.
either get ready for the day, if I have somewhere I need to be. or go downstairs and lounge around a bit, if I'm not in any hurry.
do a little blogging.
then I do whatever it is I have to do (school, work, errands, laundry, etc)
all of that is completed within an hour. unless I'm not in a hurry.
when I'm done with whatever I had to do, it's back home I go.
usually when I get home I eat a late lunch.. maybe squeeze in a workout.. do any homework I need to do.. maybe watch a movie.. whatever I feel like really. until 4pm then it's time for Ellen.
unless I'm at work, then I'd still be at work.
after Ellen, mom starts dinner. sometimes I help, if it's something I can pick at through the cooking process. and we listen to the news.
after dinner is usually Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. unless there's a game on.
at 8pm begins our nightly shows. if it's a day where there is nothing on that we watch, we'll either flip channels or watch some dvr-ed shows. and if that all fails then dad and Brian watch their hunting shows.
about 10pm everyone goes to bed. this is when I either type up a blog post, finish homework, or browse pinterest.
then I usually read until I fall asleep.
again, it depends on what day it is. and weekends are different- I'm usually at work all day, then have plans for the night.

...exciting life, right?!

Party Rock Anthem

linking up with two awesome blogs today, Bourbon&Glitter and SouthernBeautyGuide

my family is big on partying. I love enjoying a cold drink on the rocks -hah, get it? I crack myself up. we love having a good time and drinking ice cold brewskis, especially around a bonfire. anyways.. today I give you the requirements of a Lane Family Bonfire. now, every Lane Bonfire has the same basic foundation:: friends//family, country music, a giant fire, cold drinks, a few drinking games, and if you're lucky, a hell of a fireworks show I mean like $1,500 in fireworks. what could be better?

giant fires::
my grad party, 2008 (before and after)
2009.
Brian's grad party, 2011.

fireworks::

staying up all night and watching the sunrise::

there ya have it, the requirements of a bonfire at my house. don't worry about the size of the fires, we have an open field in my backyard, with enough space to be able to do that.

"be kind to one another"

thoughts and prayers to everyone in Boston, may God bless you all.

why do people have to be so hateful? I just don't get it.

I thought I'd post a few inspirational things today, cause there's too much hurt//negativity in the world, I don't think you need to hear any more from me. no, today I'm saying thank you, God, for all that you have given me.

in the words of Ellen, be kind to one another!
