an Ohio tour

yesterday myself, dad, and gram went to the ever popular West Side Market, located in Cleveland, Ohio.

it was my first time there, and it was so much fun.. I can't wait to go back.

we started off visiting the produce along side the market. dad bought a few things: hot peppers, potatoes, bananas.. gram bought a few things herself.

then it was into the actual WSM. since it was closed for a month or so from fire damage, and yesterday was the first day opened again, the place was packed. but so neat. we got even more goodies inside.. dad bought various meats to bring home bacon, chicken wings, eye round, sausages, etc, and we all sampled some kinda bbq beef stick that's what my dad told the man, meaning he wanted a smokie but what the guy gave us were not beef smokies but it was delish. seriously so good. gram bought chicken on a stick, which was also good.

we then made our way out of the market to eat lunch. we walked down to a restaurant that we heard buys all their ingredients from the WSM, but unfortunately it was closed. we ended up at a tiny coffee shop, and enjoyed a cup of coffee with Baileys unbelievably good! we ventured into the Great Lakes Brewery just to take a quick peek, and snap some pictures to send to friends/family. then it was to finally eat lunch. after the first lunch failure, we heard Nate's Deli was a great place to go, so we figured we'd try that. Nate's was good, we all got some type of corned-beef sandwich. and it was very fast food-delivery I'm talking like 5min. at a sit-down restaurant that was jam packed.

overall, a very fun day spent with my dad and gram. it was a good first experience there and, like I said, I will definitely be going back. next time I'm trying the made-to-order crepes.. they looked ridic good.

Weekend Update - LaneVisitsOU2012

normally I give a pretty detailed explanation of what occurred over my weekend. but this weekend was just too much to put into words... in a good way. I went down to Ohio University with Erin and Diana to help Tim celebrate his birthday. I seriously had an awesome weekend.

Friday night we hit up the bars, and because my neighbor//friend goes to OU and works at one of the bars I got all my drinks for free. it was epic.

Saturday we went to a house party and the bars, after getting a little tour from Tim and his sisters. at the party the four of us jammed out to Chicken Fried - Zac Brown Band. that's our group song, we sing it as loud as we possibly can. I lost my voice. but I have to say it was after the party//bars that was really fun. myself, Erin, and Diana were all laying on the air mattress when Tim got home -wasted- and he just dove right on top of us, it was hilarious.. I think it was one of those you had to be there moments. then his roommate decided to do the same while Tim was still on us, it was funny.. even though we were getting crushed.

this is Tim after he got off of us, and passed out like that. I think this explains how the weekend went. there's other pictures that I don't have access to at the moment, but if I get access I will share.

Tim and I both spent our birthday weekend filled with as much alcohol as we could possibly consume.. it was awesome!

11/26-12/2 Goals
1:: get my car e-checked.
2:: get my license plate stickers renewed.
3:: have a great time at the Cavs game.
4:: enjoy my 23rd birthday.
5:: pack//prepare for OU.

okay, so most of those I either had to do (like get my e-check and the license plate stickers and pack for OU) and the others weren't hard to complete. this week I'll try to push myself more.

12/3-12/9 Goals
1:: send out Christmas cards.
2:: laundry, laundry, laundry.
3:: dust my room.
4:: drink 2 tumblers of water everyday.
5:: finalize Christmas present gift ideas.

just a little Twitter action from this weekend...

Weekend Update - Jessie's Wedding!

This week was busy busy busy for me. Between work and coaching and running various errands I had no time to breathe.. I haven't even fully unpacked from Vegas -thats how little time I had to do other things.

Friday::
Coached 8-10am, then worked 11-4. Afterwards I had plans with my couch and TV. I did next to nothing the rest of the night, besides watch Ghost Adventures. That is until I got a text from my good friend Erin asking me to join her and Janel for drinks. So fully exhausted still I went out because... yolo. Yes, I just said yolo. It was a fun time, as always. We went to a little bar, and then to a house party.

Saturday::
Back to work 8am - 3pm. Then my family attended my 2nd cousins wedding reception. Let's just say that was a great time. All the Lanes together celebrating, what could be better? Wonderful reception, wonderful people.

Weekend Update - Lane Party 2012

So as usual I had a busy weekend.. but unlike usual it didn't start on Thursday, it started Friday like everyone else.

Friday::
 I went to my friend Erin's house and we made upwards of 100 jello shots, along with some brownie/cookie things from Nestle.
Jello Shots//Cookie-Brownie
by the way, it was ridiculously hot outside.
 After that we went to Malone's house and chilled for a bit, before they went to see Ted. Erin and myself went and played sand volleyball. It was so hot outside though that no one really tried.. which kinda made it fun -especially for me, I'm so used to running around the whole time yelling things out like it's a real game.

Saturday::
I went back to work! Good ole Beans Coffee Shop. It was my first day working in about 2 months, cause of my jaw surgery -by the way it's already been 8 weeks post-op! Saturday evening we had a bonfire//fireworks at my house. Brian lit off $1,900 worth of fireworks, it was a good show, as always. This party was known as the Lane Party 2012 since basically every year we have a larger party equipped with fireworks. Myself and my friend Diana stayed up until 6:30am. Everyone else varied between 2am and 5am. Anyways, here's some of the photos.. please ignore the drunkness.

Sunday::
Relaxed and recovered most the day, and went to dinner at Red Lobster with the fam. My mom and I both got the 4-course dinner, it was only $14! How could I pass up that deal? My courses consisted of: New England Clam Chowder, Caeser Salad, Garlic Shrimp and Scallop Pasta, and finally, a brownie a la mode. It was all delish, but soo much food -I took most of the pasta home, and took the dessert to-go.

Anyways, that was my weekend.. how was yours??

Cinco de Drinko? Cinco de Mayo.

Hope everyone had a festive Cinco de Mayo, I know I did! I went out to Downtown Willoughby with my older brother, Randy, and his fiance, Melissa, along with two of their friends Mike and Lindsey. Needless to say, it was a great time! AND I actually took some photos, here are a few to share...

The only thing I didn't do was try a new cocktail to work on my 101 goals, but that's okay -I have plenty of time for that. Everything about this night out was fun :)

Vodka and Volleyball

Went to Paninis to meet up with my fellow volleyball coach and catch up on life. It was a good time, we were able to clear our heads and just talk about anything/everything. I thought about trying a new cocktail to start working on one of my 101 goals, but decided to just stick with vodka and lemonade. AND get this - our waitress didn't even card me! Yes, I'm of age to consume alcohol, in fact, I'm 22, but I've never not gotten carded at a bar/restaurant. It was a first for me, and I liked it. We split an order of soft pretzels, which were delicious and then I got the turkey panini wrap, which was also delicious. It was a good time. I just wish I would have taken a picture to share with y'all.. I need to work on that, taking pictures. We also planned out volleyball for the summer/fall, when open gyms, tryouts, and practices will be. Which is good, because we needed to figure all that out.

The rest of my night will be watching Ghost Adventures, and maybe a movie -we'll see. And then it's off to work tomorrow morning, 8-3, followed by Cinco De Mayo festivities. Should be a pretty decent day.

Lazy Days and Sun Rays

Well, this week was finals week for us Kent Staters, and if I hadn't changed my major I'd probably be graduating. I found out that I got an 86% on my Intro to PTA final!! Pretty stoked about that :)

Today I didn't really do anything, it was a lazy day for me -same goes for yesterday. I've just been figuring out how to make my blog  super coooool.. and I'm still working on that. Otherwise, my mom and I have been coming up with ideas for Randy/Melissa's wedding shower, and we have some pretty nifty ideas if I do say so myself. Oh, and in 7 days I'll be getting jaw surgery.. where I'll be in the hospital for 2-3 days and then on a blended diet for 6 weeks. kill me. But I know God wouldn't give me a challenge that I wouldn't be able to overcome, so BRING IT ON! Its about time I get my braces off, its only been 8 years. Six weeks from the surgery would be... JUNE 21st!

Holy Moly it was soo hot and humid outside today, and yesterday! Just five days ago Chardon had a few snow flakes fall, they were few and far between but still. Thats just typical Chardon for ya, you turn your heat on one day and A/C the next. And although that can get annoying, I wouldn't trade one single day here in Small Town, USA --that's also a country song, singer: Justin Moore. I love my hometown, and nothing can bring us down! I just look forward to the day we go back to the no-name town we once were. God Bless Chardon <3

I actually did something today! well other than think of 101 things to do.. I helped my friend Hannah move out of her house. I met her when she started working at Beans Coffee Shop and became pretty good friends with her. She went to school in Grove City so shes moving back there, and she'll definitely be missed at Beans. BUT I got to cross off another 101, number 81: Do something kind for a friend, check! And to finish the night is 'comedy night done right' Community, The Office, and Parks&Rec.

'Pre-op Mowing'

I went to my grandma's tonight with my parents so my dad could install her new oven. Upon our arrival my grandma was mowing her grass with her old-school push mower. I've never used a push mower before, at least before today. I cut my grandmas backyard for her and holy hell I never want to use a push mower again. I actually got a blister on my foot!! But I'd rather have done it than make my grandma do it. She was so happy I did it for her but felt bad at the same time referring it to "pre-op mowing" since I'm getting my jaw surgery in a week and one day. Thinking back now I should've taken a picture of the lawn mower, but I didn't... oh well. I also helped my gram with her computer -what else is new! Myself, or Randy, is always helping my gram with her computer, usually with email. Anyways, there ya have it. The first time I use a push mower I get a blister.
