Rosie the Riveter (Halloween 2013)

the 3rd annual Lane Halloween party was awesome. per usual.

I had made 52 orange jello shots, 30 vanilla pudding shots, and 53 chocolate pudding shots. there was also beer pong, ride the bus, bullshit pyramid, a shot ice luge (or half of it anyways), lots of food, and plenty to draank.

I went as Rosie the Riveter,

but there were also appearances by...

"Halloween Grandma"
Michael Myers - dad
dick in a box - Brian
Richard Simmons - Randy
the energizer bunny - Melis
Mona Lisa - mom

there was also:: thing one, thing two, the cat in the hat ;; the price is right contestants ;; a beerleader ;; Casey Jones ;; Duck Dynasty ;; a zombie ;; Wednesday Adams ;; Miley and the wrecking ball ;; jagerbombs ;; Indiana Jones ;; DUI Bernie Kosar etc...

I thought there were better costumes this year than in the past, people stepped it up a notch. 1st place went to the zombie, his make-up was so well done I didn't even recognize him. 2nd place went to Miley and the wrecking ball. last place went to my uncle as the beerleader.

now I have to start thinking what I'm going to be next year... hmmmm...

Fantasy Football, Week 8.

this week in Fantasy Football...

Robert sucked, but it was Andrew Luck's bye week so I had no choice. Randle and Colston did absolutely nothing, super pissed about that. yet again Stop the Haden had to rely on the defense, kicker, and running backs. I honestly have no idea how I came out with a victory with this crapass performance but I'll take it.

RG3:: 5.98
Reuben Randle:: 0
Terrance Williams:: 12.90
Marques Colston:: 1.80
Marshawn Lynch:: 2.70
Reggie Bush:: 16.20
Jordan Reed:: 9
Phil Dawson:: 6
Pats:: 15

total:: 69.58 (projected points:: 101.92 -that's how bad my players sucked)
opponent total:: 68.44

week 8:: win, 6-2.

venison

Saturday I went hunting for the second time, first time with a gun tho. my dad's buddy from work had won two hunting passes for the Ravenna Arsenal, but couldn't go to both so he gave one to us. it was so much fun! (you mean you had fun sitting in the woods waiting for a deer to walk by on a 30 degree morning, and had to wake up at 4am to do it? yepp.)

the Ravenna Arsenal is 22,000 acres. there were about 90 other people with us, plus our guides. each pair had their own assigned hunting area. ours was 6B which was a very long but not real wide stretch of land. after sitting through a short meeting, and dad eating a pumpkin doughnut, we made the drive out to our locations and began the hunt.

on the drive to our parking spot, we came across this abandoned car. to which I was freaked out because it's straight up horror movie style. like Michael Myers is going to come out of it and kill us all. dad says to me "this isn't really a hunt, you're on Scare Tactics" (which is funny if you know what tv show that is)

in the morning we sat in our area and hoped a deer would come by. my dad saw one more than 100yrds away too far to shoot it. then we decided to walk a bit around a field when we came across two little does, they took off running as soon as they saw us. that's when we found a better area to scope out deer. we sat there for a while when a nice sized doe came running right at us. it was about 50yrds away when my dad saw her. I tried to get the gun up and pull the trigger but there were so many trees in the way it took me a second to get her in my scope. right when I was about to get set she took off running. if I would have seen her earlier or if she didn't run off I probably could have popped her.

after that encounter we decided to trek back to the car for lunch.

after lunch we didn't have too much time left to hunt. so we decided to walk all the way down to the other end of our land and push back, since we hadn't gone down that way yet. we came across an abandoned building that had signs everywhere not to enter, so of course I went inside and dad took my picture. and then we hit the old railroad tracks. about 10-15 separate tracks, I've never seen so many in my life. it was so cool. we walked across those, saw a cat, and headed into the woods. we saw two more deer bedded down, but they heard//saw us and took off running before dad could shoot. we walked back up through the woods and then decided to call it a day.

overall, we saw 6 deer, 2 coyotes (on the drive to our parking spot), and a cat. it was such a fun day with dad.

HALLOWEEN

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, only beat by Christmas. I love everything about it.. I love carving pumpkins, I love the adrenaline rush from horror movies, I love watching the leaves change color, I love the cooler temps.. so I was super excited when I learned about this link-up.

Sarah ;; Helene

last week I talked about how I was Angelica Pickles in 2011. last year I was Flo from Progressive. and well, you'll have to wait until Monday to find out what I am being this year. but I can share that I will be making both pudding shots and jello shots for the party. a few chocolate pudding, a few vanilla pudding, and of course, orange jello. I just couldn't decide, so I went with all three.

anyways, I figured today I'd talk about my two all-time favorite things to do during the month of October. and those two things are:: watch horror movies, and go to haunted houses.

every year Randy, Brian, and I go to a haunted house. in years past we've trekked out to Ghost Lake, but this year we decided to check out Fear Forrest.. it had a haunted house, a haunted hayride, a haunted pathway through the woods, and a haunted cornfield path. it was alright, I'll admit I jumped a lot. I enjoyed the hayride, because Randy and I were seated in the back so people often tried to scare us from behind, and there was this giant clown costume that looked so cool. but the scariest//best part of the night was encountering Michael Myers in the cornfield. (anyone who knows me knows that Michael is the only serial killer who really makes me feel fear.)

which brings me to watching horror movies. I love horror movies, and I'm pretty damn good at calling whats going to happen when it's going to happen. I like testing myself to see if I'm right.. and I absolutely love when I'm wrong. I love when movies (especially horror) are not what I expected.

my all-time favorite Halloween movie... John Carpenter's Halloween.

I just love Michael Myers. yes, he scares the living hell out of me, but I love him. I love the movie, I love the little characteristics that makes Michael different from other serial killers. in fact, the theme song is my ringtone, and used to be my alarm. I've even posted about it before.

8 more days til Halloween Halloween Halloween, 8 more days til Halloween, Silver Shamrock! (if you know what that's from, you get bonus points.)

and only 3 days until the party!!

Angelica Pickles (Halloween 2011)

Randy and Melissa have an annual Halloween bash with costume contests and all (best gets a giftcard of some sort, worst has to do a pumpkin chug- drink a beer out of a pumpkin).

the first year I was none other than, Miss Angelica Pickles from the Rugrats. hello 90s child. I even had a few votes for best costume.

purple shoes, orange socks, blue tights with hand-painted green polka-dots, orange long sleeved shirt with purple dress, hair in pigtails with purple bows, and of course, Cynthia (shoutout to my little cousin for letting me borrow a Barbie).

and just so you can compare it...

anyways...

dancing.
gram was: the world wide web
Melissa was: Randy's Dear (deer)

Brian:: Mayhem from AllState ;; Randy:: a bowling Lane (notice the pun with the last name)
mom and dad were cornhole boards
and then I put on Randy's stache.

and that was the Halloween I was Angelica Pickles.

cannot wait for this year's bash!!

Dr. Scholl's For Her Active Series

I received the Dr. Scholl's Active Series complimentary from Influenster. (if ya want an invite to join Influenster, let me know, I have extras).

I was excited to get these cause I can actually use them, unlike a few other products I've gotten from Influenster. but what shoes do I put them in?! do I wear them for work, or put them in a shoe I use to workout in? (of course if I do that, then I'd have to actually work out). well, all my shoes are basically the same, Nike Shox, only one is not Nike.

anyways, they seem super awesome. I can't wait to test them out this week!

Colston gave me nothing, and Johnson got hurt in the 2ndQ never came back in. Bush didn't give me a great performance either. but the real hurt was my opponents players, Dez Bryant crushed it and so did kicker Matt Prater. even her Cincy defense out pointed the Pats. just wasn't a good week for my guys.

happy happy happy

if ya follow my blog's twitter you've probably seen that "J" or Josh, came over Saturday night and met the parents/Melissa/cousin Mo (he had already met Randy and Brian at the Luke Bryan concert).

I really don't think it could have went any better. everyone liked him, and we all had a good time. I don't have any pictures, but I have some stories...

he came over for the Buckeyes game, drank some brewskis, played some darts with the guys, learned how to play Shut the Box, and ended up staying the night.. to which he asked me "where should I sleep, cause I don't want to wake up with a 9mm pointed at me" (I thought that was hilarious, the quote of the night).

the story of the night tho, is the golfing situation...
as you may know, my family is ridiculously competitive. Josh apparently likes a good competition as well and decided at like 2am to see who could hit a golf ball the farthest. my dad got a little too competitive and I had to calm him down. J was being a tad too cocky, and my dad had been drinking so his hits weren't as good as usual, so he got frustrated. Brian's first hit went a total of 5 yards, and I can't stop laughing about that.

 J said he had a blast and I know my family had a good time. and I'm so glad he made it out to meet them before he leaves (he's going to boot camp in a week).

I'm so happy everyone liked him (even Lois loved him!) and that the night went well.. woot woot!! :)
