50 Q's that will Free Your Mind, 2.

 First, my college's baseball team is UNBELIEVABLE right now. The Kent State Golden Flashes are headed to the College World Series, for the first time in Kent's history. I'm so excited I have to share the game winning video::
GO FLASHES!! BEAT ARKANSAS!

Anyways, my first post of the 50 Question's that will Free Your Mind can be found, HERE. The first ten went pretty well, so it's time for the next series.

I'm just going to jump right into it, here are the next 10 questions...

11. You’re having lunch with three people you respect and admire.  They all start criticizing a close friend of yours, not knowing she is your friend.  The criticism is distasteful and unjustified.  What do you do?
         Well, for one thing I wouldn't think so highly of those three people anymore. I would definitely lose some respect for them. But, reacting to the situation, I'd probably tell them that I'm friends with said person, and suggest that they stop talking about him negatively.

12. If you could offer a newborn child only one piece of advice, what would it be?
         Don't be afraid to just be yourself. Be who you want to be, not what others expect you to be.

13. Would you break the law to save a loved one?
         Without a doubt.

14. Have you ever seen insanity where you later saw creativity?
         Not that I recall.. if so, it didn't leave a big impact on me, considering I can't remember the situation.

15. What’s something you know you do differently than most people?
         This is a random answer, but I know I eat Sloppy Joes differently, because I don't eat it like a sandwich, in fact, I don't even use bread.. I just eat the meat.. kinda defeats the whole purpose of a Sloppy Joe, but that's what I do.. weird, I know. I don't really eat it too often.

16. How come the things that make you happy don’t make everyone happy?
          Because everyone is different, everyone is their own person. I'm sure there's lots of things that make other people happy that don't make me happy.. like spiders, and spaghetti (I don't like either one.)

17. What one thing have you not done that you really want to do?  What’s holding you back?
          Travel to Ireland. The only thing holding me back is money.. I need to save enough money first so I can go. One day I will.

18. Are you holding onto something you need to let go of?
          My childhood. I liked being a stress-free, no responsibilities, carefree kid. But, I know I have to grow up and deal with the real world.

19. If you had to move to a state or country besides the one you currently live in, where would you move and why?
          If I absolutely had to move, I guess I'd go to... PA, or Michigan, so I could stay as close as possible to Ohio, and my family. Probably Michigan since that's where my Aunt lived, although the whole Buckeye fan in Wolverine territory I'm sure wouldn't work too well for me.

20. Do you push the elevator button more than once?  Do you really believe it makes the elevator faster?
        I used to push it more than once, even though I knew it didn't matter. But, as of recently I have just been pushing it once.

Weekend Update - Hot Air Balloon

I had an AWESOME weekend.

Friday::
Woke up early and got my hair highlighted by my favorite hairstylist Marci, at Marci's Hair on the Square. After that I enjoyed an ice cold Chocolate Peanut Butter Mocha, with whipped cream, from my favorite coffee shop, Beans!

I just love these little cups. Found it on Pinterest.

After my Beans Coffee Shop stop, I drove all the way to downtown Cleveland for my 4 week jaw surgery post-op check-up. And I'm recovering well. The Doc took off my rubber bands, but did suggest that I still wear one on my left side, although it's not crucial. It's more of just a jump start on what my orthodontist would do (go HERE for my latest update)  After that, my parents and I went out to Debonne Winery with friends of ours. You can read all about that, and my Hot Air Balloon ride, HERE. It's a good post, definitely should check it out :)
just a glimpse of the photos I took.. check out the rest HERE

Saturday::
Another busy day. I had two grad parties and then ended the night at the St. Gabe's festival. And right now I'm realizing, once again, that I need to start taking pictures. Why is it so hard to remember? So I'll just leave it at that. Two grad parties, and the St. Gabe's festival (which is a church festival. Good food, fun rides, games, etc.)

Sunday::
I relaxed all day. Watched TV, and sat on the couch most the day. At night, in case you haven't noticed already, I changed up my blog. The last design was just to get me up and running, although I did like that one too. I just wanted to switch it up, and I'm not quite sure if it's done yet. So there may be more changes in the near future. Also, I got a NEW FOLLOWER! yahooo!! Check out Tracy @ Then I Got To Thinking...

Sunday Social

This is a brand new link-up over at A Complete Waste of Makeup -check it out!

The idea is to answer six questions so followers, and new comers, can learn a little bit more about the person behind the blog posts.

Here we go::

How did you come up with your blog name?
    I thought it would be cool to use a song lyric, and because Country music is my favorite genre, I started browsing my iPod for songs with a lyric that would work. That's when I came across Darius Rucker's "History in the Making". I knew instantly that was the one, since my blog is about my life and making history.

What is your favorite thing about blogging?
    Probably being able to document the exciting things that happen in my life. I know one day it will be great to look back on this blog and remember all those great memories.

What is one thing you have discovered because of blogging and now cant live without?
    Blogging itself. Melissa got me into blogging and now I'm addicted, I love it!

Facebook or Twitter? and why?
      Twitter is great and all, but I gotta go with Facebook. You can interact with your friends/family, whereas Twitter all you can do to "interact" is retweet or reply. I mean, you can send a direct message, but has anyone ever actually used that?

If one celeb read your blog who would you want it to be?
      If a celebrity wants to read my blog, I'm not going to be picky about it. I'd be honored, and frankly, a little worried, a celeb interested in my small town life? Don't think that's going to happen. But, just to be a good sport and answer the question, I'll go with... Emma Stone. She's been my favorite actress since I saw "Easy A" and she gave probably the best acceptance speech ever on the MTV Movie Awards.

What is something you want people to know about your blog?
      Just that this is me. This is me 100%, I'm not holding back anything.. I tell it like it is, and I'm not afraid to be me. So, what you see on my blog is simply, me.

Up, Up, and Away! (no, not the Disney Channel movie)

Are y'all ready for this exciting news?!? Are you sure, like really really sure you're ready????

I got to ride in a hot air balloon! yahooo!!!!

It was soo much fun. At first I was a little nervous, mostly about my jaw (seeing as just four weeks ago I got jaw surgery.) But boy was I excited. My parents, myself, and friends of ours, Dave & Benita Huntington, went to Debonne Winery here in NE Ohio. They have a big balloon festival every year to sort of jump kick the summer. Well, it turns out that Dave does side work for Debonne's and knows the owner really well. The owner gave him 2 free tickets to take a ride in a hot air balloon, and he gave them to my mom and I to use! Isn't he the nicest? The balloon we went up in was from the company Boo Lou Noodles, and they were such nice people. They even let my dad go up with us, without a ticket. Such a sweet family. We flew about 20 or so minutes before landing at an abandoned farm, the ground crew (two people from Boo Lou Noodles, Kyle and Deb, followed and picked us up.) The take off, ride itself, and landing all went perfectly, so smooth and no trouble at all. It was GREAT! It's hard work to be a hot air balloon pilot. Always having to pack and unpack the balloon/basket. The balloon weighed about 250lbs, and the basket fully loaded is about 4-500lbs! Anyways, enough of the story.. here's some pictures::

This adventure completes #74: Do something out of my comfort zone -check! And, #82: Try something new -check! And, #29- Go to a winery -check! Along with getting started on #100: Meet 5 new people.

$95,000

Today marks FOUR WEEKS since my jaw surgery!! And, I'm feeling good. I haven't taken any medicine for over 24 hours.. it may not seem like much, but it's those small victories that keep me going. And the best part about being four weeks in, it means only TWO MORE WEEKS until I can chew soft food again!! I cannot wait until I can bite into a hamburger, or eat a chicken nugget.. I miss my unhealthy meaty food.

Tomorrow, I go back to the Doc's and hopefully these rubber bands come off for good. We'll see. For now I'll continue eating mac&cheese, mashed potatoes, rice, and soup. Along with ice cream, graham crackers, chocolate morsels, and protein shakes/smoothies. Oh, and I'll keep icing my face until all the swelling is gone, I sure hope it goes away soon.. it's getting annoying; and the numbness, agh. Is it too much to ask just to be able to feel my chin again, or parts of my lips/cheeks? The Doc's say that it could be months before all the numbness goes away... it's going to be a long couple of months. I just have to remember that in the end, after I'm 100% healed, it will all be worth it. No more braces, no more crooked mouth, an even bite, and a normal smile. Plus, I know God wouldn't give me a challenge that I couldn't handle.

OH, and we found out yesterday that the total cost of my surgery (hospital bills included), comes to a whopping $95,000... $95,000! If you add on the $5,000 for braces, my mouth comes to $100,000. WOW. Good thing we have insurance.

Also, I have titanium plates in my mouth and heard this song the other day...

Normally, I'm not fond of David Guetta because I feel like all he does is stand there and press a few buttons and he gets all this attention/fame. I don't know, anyways, this song is called "Titanium". What I'm worried about though is airport security. My family is going to Las Vegas this summer and I really hope my metal doesn't set off the metal detectors. If it does it's going to create a scene, I'll have to be checked and scanned, it will just be weird/awkward. But, my surgeon said I don't have to worry about it and that I won't set it off... ya, we'll see about that. I don't have a good feeling about it.

Happy Thursday!
